What verification gives you

A verified item gets a tick on your public profile and improves your priority in relevant searches. Once at least one paid document is verified and approved, you're added to our AI recommended list for parents and students. Verification is optional, and your profile stays live without it.

📘 Academic Learning

ID and DBS verification

Academic tutors can choose identity and DBS verification to display trusted badges and improve search priority.

Upload a passport or driving licence for identity verification.
Upload a DBS certificate you already hold for DBS verification.
Where accepted, the profile shows the DBS type, e.g. ✅ Basic DBS verified or ✅ Enhanced DBS verified, and ✅ ID verified. Members can add more than one DBS type.

What parents and guardians should check

Ask to see original documents, including any DBS certificate.
Ask about experience, references and insurance, and take up references.
Agree arrangements, rates and cancellation terms directly with the tutor.
Consider whether sessions should be supervised, and where they take place.
Keep communication on the platform until you have confirmed you are working together.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for deciding who they engage and for supervising arrangements involving children and young people.

Your privacy matters

Documents are stored securely, never shown publicly, and deleted after verification unless a documented reason requires temporary retention. We keep the result, not unnecessary document copies.

We ask for identity and/or DBS documents so that we can verify your profile. They are not used for marketing and are not shared with other platform users. We retain only the minimum information necessary to record the outcome of your verification.

What happens to your documents

1. You upload your document securely.
2. Verification is completed securely.
3. We record the outcome — approved, rejected or replacement requested.
4. Your document is securely deleted from our active systems.
5. Your badge stays on your profile, based on the review record — not on us keeping your document.

In exceptional cases we may need to hold a document temporarily for a specific documented legal, safeguarding or dispute reason, and backups follow a documented retention lifecycle. Any such hold is reviewed and the document deleted once the reason no longer applies. Verification is optional — your profile can go live either way, but reviewed professionals rank higher and display badges.
